There are roles for people who can commit weekly and for specialists or supporters who can contribute more flexibly.

Receive training, resources and continuing support from unit leadership and the Board of Trustees.
Whether you are available every week or only at selected events, there is a useful role to play.

| Unit Instructor / Leader | High | Weekly parade night plus some activity planning. Deliver syllabus modules, drill instruction and act as a primary mentor to cadets. |
| Unit Commanding Officer (CO) | High | Leadership and administration. Oversee unit operations, volunteer management, safety and safeguarding compliance. |
| Specialist Skills Volunteer | Medium | Monthly or quarterly input. Deliver specific training modules such as basic electronics, financial literacy or advanced first aid. |
| Unit Support Volunteer | Flexible | Event-based support with uniform logistics, marshalling, fundraising and administration. |
Adult volunteers undertake mandatory training in safeguarding, health and safety, youth development best practice and programme delivery.
This is youth work with structure and standards. Cadet welfare is always paramount.
